Air India has launched Wi-Fi internet connectivity services on its domestic and international flights operated by Airbus A350, Boeing 787-9, and select Airbus A321neo aircraft. This makes Air India the first airline to offer in-flight Wi-Fi on domestic flights within India, allowing passengers to stay connected during their journey, whether for business or leisure.
The service enables passengers to browse the internet, access social media, catch up on work, or stay in touch with friends and family while flying. Rajesh Dogra, Chief Customer Experience Officer of Air India, shared, “Connectivity is now an integral part of modern travel. Whether it’s for sharing in real time or enhancing productivity, we believe our guests will appreciate the option to stay connected and enjoy the enhanced Air India experience onboard.”
The Wi-Fi service is available on Wi-Fi-enabled devices such as laptops, tablets, and smartphones (iOS or Android). Passengers can also connect multiple devices simultaneously once the aircraft reaches an altitude of 10,000 feet.
This service initially rolled out on select international routes, including flights to New York, London, Paris, and Singapore. Following a successful pilot program, it is now available on domestic routes as well. As part of an introductory offer, Wi-Fi is complimentary for passengers, with plans for further expansion across the airline’s fleet over time.
