SIAM Delegation Visit Strengthens India-Sri Lanka Economic Ties

A delegation of 18 members from the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) visited Sri Lanka from March 17 to 18, 2025. The group included key representatives from top Indian vehicle manufacturers across various segments, including commercial vehicles, passenger vehicles, two-wheelers, and three-wheelers.

  During their visit, the delegation met with Hon. Sunil Handunneththi, Minister of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development, and Hon. Chathuranga Abeysinghe, Deputy Minister of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development. They also engaged in discussions with senior officials from the Ministry of Finance, the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka, and members of the Ceylon Motor Traders Association.

  Additionally, the delegation met Dr. Satyanjal Pandey, Deputy High Commissioner of India, to update him on the operations and contributions of Indian automobile companies in Sri Lanka.

  This visit further strengthens the economic ties between India and Sri Lanka, fostering greater collaboration and growth within the automobile industry.
