Maharashtra’s Protocol and Marketing Minister Launches Initiative to Enhance Bilateral Trade

The Minister of Protocol and Marketing, Government of Maharashtra, Jaykumar Rawal, has launched a visionary initiative aimed at enhancing engagement on “Growth Areas and Emerging Opportunities for Bilateral Trade” between Maharashtra and foreign missions in Mumbai. The initiative, which seeks to foster deeper economic ties, was unveiled in a strategic meeting held at Sahyadri Guest House in Malabar Hill, Mumbai, in collaboration with various business chambers and industry houses.

  The event saw the participation of Shri Viraj Kulkarni, Honorary Consul of Cyprus, alongside delegates from the Bombay Chamber of Commerce, Indian Merchants Chamber, and Indo-Cyprus associated business representatives. These delegates engaged in discussions with the State Marketing Department and senior officials from allied departments, focusing on areas like agriculture, agri-tech, food processing, student mobility, trade facilitation, and investment promotion. The aim is to pave the way for stronger bilateral cooperation between Maharashtra and Cyprus, and potentially other foreign missions.

  Key delegates in attendance included Viraj Kulkarni, Honorary Consul of Cyprus and Founder of PIVOT Management Consulting Pvt. Ltd.; Balasubramaniam Venkataramani, MD & CEO of NSE-IX; Sandeep Khosla, DG of Bombay Chamber of Commerce & Industry; Ajit Mangrulkar, Director General of IMC Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Sanjay Mehta, Deputy Director General of IMC Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Ratheesh Nair, Regional Director of the Indian Chamber of Commerce; Unmesh Vaidya, Co-Founder of Foxtrot Interactive Pvt. Ltd.; Soniya Soude, Assistant to Honorary Consul; Manoj Gursahani, Executive Director of The Global Chamber; and Sunil Gidwani, Partner at Nangia Andersen LLP.

  This initiative marks a significant step towards boosting Maharashtra’s international trade and opening new doors for economic partnerships, further strengthening the state’s position in the global market.
