In a bid to spread awareness about the concept of Integral Humanism, Maharashtra Governor and Chancellor of State Universities C. P. Radhakrishnan announced the creation of a Chair in the name of Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyaya at the Ratan Tata Maharashtra State Skill University. The announcement was made during the Diamond Jubilee programme organized to commemorate the articulation of Integral Humanism by Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya at Ruia College in Mumbai.

The Governor highlighted the significance of Integral Humanism, a philosophy propounded by Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyaya, which emphasizes the importance of human welfare in a balanced societal framework. The concept, according to the Governor, serves as a middle path between the extremes of Communism and Capitalism. He added that Pandit Upadhyaya’s teachings were deeply influenced by the thoughts of Swami Vivekananda and Mahatma Gandhi, whose ideologies continue to inspire the nation today.

The event was a tribute to the lecture series on Integral Humanism delivered by Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya at Ruia College in Mumbai, from April 22–24, 1965. The commemoration programme was organized by the Deen Dayal Research Institute and Lodha Foundation.

Governor Radhakrishnan also reflected on the impact of Pandit Upadhyaya’s vision on Antyodaya, a concept that aims for the welfare of the last person in the socio-economic ladder. He praised the efforts of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and current Prime Minister Narendra Modi for turning the ideals of Antyodaya into reality through various initiatives. These include rural infrastructure development, provision of gas connections, and the supply of drinking water in rural areas.

The event saw participation from several prominent dignitaries, including Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal, Minister of Skills, Employment, Entrepreneurship and Innovation Mangal Prabhat Lodha, RSS ideologue Suresh Soni, and Atul Jain, General Secretary of the Deen Dayal Shodh Sansthan.

The creation of the Chair at the Skill University is seen as a significant step towards spreading the philosophy of Integral Humanism among students and youth, ensuring that Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya’s vision continues to inspire future generations.
