In a vibrant celebration of storytelling and cultural exchange, China’s Acting Consul General in Mumbai, Her Excellency Wang Awei, attended the Indian premiere of Ne Zha 2 on April 23, hosted by Warner Bros. Pictures India. The film, a cinematic retelling of a beloved Chinese mythological figure, arrives in India at a symbolic moment—coinciding with the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and India.
Addressing the gathering, Her Excellency Wang Awei praised the film for bringing ancient Chinese mythology to life through modern storytelling. “Ne Zha 2 not only revitalizes a timeless legend with creativity and visual brilliance, but also represents a milestone in Chinese cinema by setting new box office records both domestically and globally,” she said.
Highlighting the shared cultural richness of China and India, she noted that both nations are guardians of centuries-old traditions and mythological heritage. “Films serve as the best bridge of communication. Through them, we not only witness diverse cultures and lifestyles, but also celebrate shared human values and emotions,” she remarked, underscoring the role of cinema in fostering mutual understanding and inclusivity.
The premiere event, held in Mumbai, was lively and warmly received. The screening drew a crowd of enthusiastic film lovers, including prominent Indian digital creators, cultural influencers, and film bloggers.
