This September, Mumbai gets a hearty taste of North India’s most beloved cuisine as Taj Santacruz presents the Amritsar Food Festival at Tiqri, running from the 13th to the 21st. This dinner-only celebration brings the bold, rustic, and soulful flavours of Punjab straight to the city’s culinary enthusiasts.
Leading the festival is Chef Raman Kumar from Taj Swarna, Amritsar, specially invited for his deep-rooted understanding of traditional Punjabi cooking. Guests can expect an authentic spread that includes signature dishes such as bheega kulcha, Amritsari wadiyan, jalebi fresh from the kadai, robust tandoori specialties, and the iconic lassi—each served with the simplicity and warmth of true Punjabi hospitality.
The philosophy behind the festival goes beyond cooking regional food. While the in-house chefs at Taj Santacruz are trained in preparing regional Indian dishes, the Taj Group believes in preserving the purity of regional flavours by bringing in chefs who represent the culinary culture of the region itself. It’s this commitment to authenticity that sets the experience apart.
Chef Nitin Minocha, Executive Chef, Taj Santacruz says “A recipe can be followed, but true flavour comes from a chef who has lived the culture, breathed the spices, and grown with the cuisine”.
Set against the elegant interiors of Tiqri, the Amritsar Food Festival offers more than just a meal—it invites guests into the heart of Punjab. Every bite tells a story, from bustling Amritsari streets to time-honoured family kitchens.
The festival is open for dinner service only, from 13th to 21st September at Tiqri, Taj Santacruz. It promises a rare opportunity to experience Punjab on a plate, right in the heart of Mumbai.
