Maharashtra Raj Bhavan on Thursday paid heartfelt tributes to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, and former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Lal Bahadur Shastri on their birth anniversaries. The ceremony reflected deep respect for the timeless ideals and selfless service of these visionary leaders.
Deputy Secretary to the Governor, S. Ramamoorthy, led the homage by offering floral tributes at the portraits of both leaders. Comptroller of the Governor’s Households, Dr. Nishikant Deshpande, ADC to the Governor, Abhaysinha Deshmukh, along with other officers and staff of Raj Bhavan, joined in honoring their remarkable contributions to the nation.
The ceremony celebrated the values of truth, non-violence, integrity, and humility that Gandhi and Shastri embodied. Such commemorations inspire officials and citizens alike to uphold the principles that shaped India’s journey, keeping alive the spirit and legacy of these great national icons.
