The Governor of Maharashtra and Chancellor of the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS), Acharya Devvrat, has handed over the additional charge of the post of Vice Chancellor of MUHS to Dr Ajay Chandanwale, who currently serves as the Director of Medical Education and Research (DMER), Mumbai, as per the press release issued by Raj Bhavan.
The move comes at the conclusion of the tenure of Lt Gen (Retd) Dr Madhuri Kanitkar, who successfully completed her term as Vice Chancellor of the university. Dr Chandanwale will hold the additional charge until a regular appointment is made to the post.
MUHS, headquartered in Nashik, is the apex body governing medical, dental, AYUSH and allied health sciences education across Maharashtra, overseeing more than 400 institutions affiliated to it.
