Sitaram Mewati, India’s seasoned journalist and Editor-in-Chief of Mumbai Messenger Newspaper, has been internationally honoured at the Next Economy Forum 2025, held in the historic chambers of the House of Lords, London. The recognition celebrates his outstanding contributions to journalism, public discourse, and social awareness—principles that have guided his career for over three decades.

The prestigious forum brought together global leaders, policymakers, and influencers to rethink contemporary economic and social paradigms, focusing on human-centric innovation, responsible growth, and shared purpose—values that align closely with Mewati’s journalistic philosophy and people-focused storytelling.

The felicitation ceremony was attended by Lord Darren Mott of the House of Lords and Navendu Mishra, Member of the UK Parliament, who honoured achievers contributing to a more informed and equitable global society. The session opened with a welcome address by Gaurav Khattar, Chairman of the Advisory Board of Brand Vista and Guidance Forever, setting the tone for a day of dialogue, collaboration, and forward-looking ideas.

A Mumbai-based journalist with over three decades of professional experience, Mewati is an alumnus of Wilson College, Mumbai, Siddharth College of Mass Communication, and the Institute of Hotel Management, Mumbai YMCA. In 2023, he was the sole journalist from India to complete a specialised media programme conducted by China Central Television (CCTV) in Beijing.

Currently serving as Editor-in-Chief of Mumbai Messenger Newspaper, he also contributes to Hindi, Gujarati, and Marathi publications, strengthening independent journalism and promoting diverse storytelling through new media.

Over the years, Mewati has received numerous honours, including the National Award for Best Journalism in Hospitality from the Indian Culinary Forum (ICF), the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar National Award for Journalism, and recognition from CCTV as Best Journalist in Diplomatic News Writing. He has also been awarded the Shunya se Shikhar Foundation Best Journalist Award, IHM Mumbai Award for Best Hospitality & Tourism Writing, and an honour from Ethiopian Ambassador to India, Demeke Atnafu Ambulo. Additional accolades include the Sahitya Gaurav Samman from the Banaras Lit Fest, the I-PHA Award for Hospitality & Tourism Writing, and the HPMF Award for Travel, Tourism & Hospitality.

Expressing his gratitude, Sitaram said, “I am deeply honoured to receive this recognition at the House of Lords from such distinguished leaders. This award is not just a personal achievement, but a tribute to all journalists committed to truth, accountability, and public service. It is a blessing of my parents and the continuous support of my family, and I especially dedicate this honour to my mother, who has always stood behind me like a rock.”
