Fairmont Mumbai, the Art Deco-inspired luxury hotel strategically located near the city’s international airport, has completed one year of operations, marking twelve months of redefining hospitality in India’s financial capital with a signature blend of timeless elegance, immersive experiences and modern theatre. Since opening its doors in January 2025, the hotel has rapidly established itself as one of the country’s most distinctive luxury addresses, attracting global travellers, tastemakers and Mumbai’s elite.

Inspired by the glamour of the 1920s, Fairmont Mumbai stands out for its bold architecture, scale-led opulence and theatrical public spaces. Over the past year, it has also made a strong mark with its experiential dining concepts and the launch of India’s first luxury longevity destination at Blu Xone, setting new benchmarks in transformative wellness and age-defying living.

In just one year, the hotel has earned widespread recognition across hospitality, lifestyle and design platforms. It has been honoured in categories such as Best New Hotel, Luxury Hospitality, Design Excellence, Dining Destination and Leadership, reinforcing its position as a future-forward icon of Indian luxury. General Manager Rajiv Kapoor was recognised at the People’s Choice Awards as one of the Top 10 GMs – Luxury Hotels & Resorts, while Director of Culinary Chef Prasad Metrani received the Best Director – Culinary award at the Better Kitchen Awards 2025. The hotel’s much-talked-about venue, The Hedonist, was also applauded for Outstanding Ambience & Design (West Region).

At the helm of this journey, Rajiv Kapoor has played a pivotal role in shaping the hotel’s identity, building a culture rooted in warmth, precision and service excellence. Reflecting on the milestone, he said the first year was about laying strong foundations, nurturing exceptional teams and allowing Fairmont Mumbai to find its own voice in the city.

The first anniversary was marked with a day-long celebration across the property, bringing together guests, patrons, partners and the Fairmont team. Highlights included curated experiences at The Merchants with a mocktail lab, golden ticket surprises offering exclusive privileges, live music in the lobby, a Tea Sommelier experience, and a grand cake-cutting ceremony led by Mr. Kapoor along with owners Mr. and Mrs. Nitan Chhatwal.
