The Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport Undertaking (BEST) has issued a public warning against a fake recruitment advertisement being circulated on social media platforms and a website claiming vacancies in the civic transport undertaking.

In an official press note issued on May 18, BEST clarified that reports regarding recruitment of doctors, newly recruited staff and other posts under the undertaking are completely false and misleading. According to the statement, the fake recruitment message linked to the website “www.mahaenokari.com” has gone viral on WhatsApp and other social media platforms under the title “BEST Mumbai Bharti 2026”.

BEST authorities stated that no such recruitment notification has been issued by the undertaking through any authorised newspaper, website or official communication channel. The transport body urged citizens and job seekers not to trust or rely on unauthorised advertisements without proper verification.

The undertaking further appealed to the public to exercise caution while applying for jobs through unofficial portals or websites. BEST clarified that if any individual applies through such fake recruitment links and becomes a victim of fraud or financial cheating, the undertaking will not be held responsible for any consequences arising from it.

The press note, issued by Public Relations Officer Sujata Utale, advised citizens to verify all recruitment-related information only through official BEST communication channels before taking any action.

The warning comes amid growing concerns over fake online recruitment scams targeting unemployed youth through social media and fraudulent websites promising government or public sector jobs.
