This Onam, The Merchants at Fairmont Mumbai will present Onam Aaghosham on 22nd August 2026, celebrating Kerala’s festive culinary traditions with a classic Sadhya served on a banana leaf. Created in collaboration with Backwaters Chechie, led by Shobha Pillai Cutinho, the feast will be available during lunch and dinner.
The Sadhya will showcase the traditional sequence of accompaniments, vegetable preparations, curries, rice and desserts that define Kerala’s grand Onam feast. Highlights include kaya upperi, sharkara varatti, pappadam, manga achar and inji puli, followed by favourites such as pineapple pachadi, avial, olan, kaalan and erissery.
The feast will also feature Kerala matta rice, parippu, nei, sambar and rasam, with regional specialities including appam with vegetable stew and kappa vevichadhu. Desserts will include ada pradhaman and Thiruvonam paal payasam, completing the traditional festive meal.

Beyond the Sadhya, Onam Aaghosham will feature live music, performing arts, traditional entertainment, arts and crafts, and heritage-inspired elements, adding a cultural dimension to the celebration.
Designed for families and festive gatherings, the event brings Kerala’s regional flavours and time-honoured customs to Fairmont Mumbai’s New Wave Foodhall.
