Seasoned hotelier Hemant Tenneti has recently joined The Westin Mumbai Powai Lake and Lakeside Chalet Mumbai – Marriott Executive Apartments, as cluster General Manager. He has an eminent track record in spearheading hotel operations across South Asia. Hemant’s wealth of experience spanning two decades in the hospitality sector is a testament to his passion and vigour.
In his new role, Hemant will be at the helm of day-to-day operations, ensuring personalized, high-quality service to all guests. He will continue to offer a home base for locals and travellers to explore Mumbai.
Hemant has created the perfect guest experiences, and this puts him in an ideal position to elevate these hotels as the definitive urban resort. Prior to joining Westin Powai, he was leading the Operations Discipline for South Asia as the Senior Area Director of Operations. He has held various leadership roles within Marriott International
Educational Assets: Hemant is one of the few managers from the Indian hospitality industry, who has studied from Cornell University by completing courses in Hotel Real Estate investments and Asset Management, Hospitality Administration. Beginning his primary education from Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan and higher secondary education from Visakha Valley School (VVS) at Visakhapatnam. To pursue his dream in the hospitality industry, he joined Institute of Hotel Management, Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition, Chennai IHMCTAN Chennai, a premier hotel management institution. To enhance his educational skills, he also completed Post graduation in Business Management in Finance/Operations from Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Kozhikode. He also completed a Bachelor of Business, Hotel/Motel Administration from Southern Cross University.
This property is not new to Hemant, he joined the company in 2011 as the Director Food & Beverage at the Renaissance Mumbai Convention Centre and Marriott Executive Apartments, Mumbai, transforming a complex Food & Beverage operation into an award winning one, which became a talk of the town.
Climbing the ladder of success, he moved on to his first General Manager role, leading the Courtyard by Marriott Chakan Pune, which was and has been a recipient of multiple accolades and awards for several years in a row.
In 2016, Hemant was promoted as the Area Director of Operations for South Asia and in the last six years, he has held many responsibilities including Franchising and Select Service hotel operations. Prior to joining Marriott International in 2011, he had successful stints with leading companies like Accor and Taj group of hotels.
Award and accolades: Hemant is renowned for his passionate leadership and innovative approach to guest services, he was awarded as the ‘Best Area Director Operations, APEC’ in the year 2018.
