Kazakhstan Tourism Board Organised Roadshow in Mumbai: 14-Day Visa-Free Regime for Indians Boosts Tourist Interest

 Indian tourist arrivals in Kazakhstan have grown by nearly 300 per cent in the last one year. To further expand this market, the Kazakhstan Tourism Board organised a roadshow in Mumbai on August 22, 2024. According to the press release, the delegation comprising seven representatives from the tourism industry of Kazakhstan showcased their products and introduced tour packages to the heads of Indian tour operators and Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI).

  The roadshow was organised under the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan and supported by the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in India.  The roadshow included B2B meetings that enabled valuable interaction between Indian and Kazakh tour operators.

The number of Indian tourists to Kazakhstan more than tripled by the end of last year, from 19,000 in 2022 to 54,000 in 2023. This significant growth can be attributed to the availability of regular direct flights seven days a week between the two countries. And, the introduction of a 14-day visa-free regime for Indian citizens in 2022, and growing interest in Kazakhstan as a tourist destination. According to the press release,

The roadshow initiative aims to strengthen tourism ties and promote Kazakhstan as a major tourist destination. Indian tourists want to travel around the world and this initiative of Kazakhstan, Tourism will give tourists a chance to visit famous places along with getting more information.

Earlier this year, Kazakhstan was recognized as the most preferred MICE destination for Indian business tourists for 2023-2024 at the 6th Annual MICE Conference Expo and Awards (TMCEA) in Delhi, India. The tourism board said that it is an important event in the MICE industry, and a venue for key market representatives to discuss current trends, hold business meetings and felicitate top performers in the industry, according to the press statement.
