Thane Lions Festival wraps up with much fanfare

Two Days festival was well attended and well appreciated 

Lions Club of Kopri, Thane organized a two-day Thane Lions Festival at Bhagwati High School, Naupada, Thane. The poster exhibition of peace awareness was the main attraction in the programs organized during this event. Thane Lions Festival showcases a mélange of cultural displays under one roof. Children’s to senior citizens participate and showcase their hidden talents. The festival was organized under the guidance of Lion Sanjana Khemani and Lion Arun Mande.

On this occasion many competition and awareness programme were organised. These programmes included solo dance, inter-school traditional dance, quiz, online computer service awareness for senior citizens, karaoke singing competition for housewives, cooking competition and Talk on healthy-nutritious food and many more. 

The winners for this exhibition-competition were Mihika Pathane (First) from Harmony Arts, Harsh Dhamane (Second) from Shri Maa Bal Niketan High School and Anvesha Patil (Third) from Kalpataru School of Arts. 

The chief guest at the ceremony was Thane Mayor Naresh Mhaske. Thane Mayor honoured the winners of all the events by giving them prizes and certificates. A large number of dignitaries were present in the program, including the clubs Lion and Lioness. The peace awareness poster event was participated by students from 27 prominent schools. 

The convener of the event was Club Chairperson Lion Anita Rege, Chief Advisor Lion K.J.Paul, Vice Chairperson Lion Namdev Dhawale, Lion Santosh Thakur and Lion Chhaya Dusane.

The winner’s trophies for the competition were sponsored by well-known women and rights activist, Summan R Agrawal and senior socialist-industrialist Ramprakash Agrawal from Suprayas Foundation. 

Summan R Agrawal women and rights activist said “Organising this kind of event gives us immense pleasure. One can see various programmes where children to senior citizen participate happily and show off their talents. Year after year this event is gaining popularity and more and more people are coming forward to be a part of this event. We are contemplating to organise this programme on mega level in future. I am sure it would be a mega success”.
