Tough time ahead: Need to work together to ensure a strong and speedy revival of the Hospitality industry
Entire hospitality industry is facing unprecedented revenue losses as the impact of
COVID-19 pandemic intensifies. There has been an over 80% to 90% drop in
occupancy level. Indian tourism and hospitality industry are facing unparalleled
repercussions such as stall in foreign tourism. Due to travel restrictions many hotels
have shut their opérations. This pandemic situation is playing out across all hotels
worldwide as national lock down announced till 3rd of May. None of us in the
industry foresee any signs of recovery in India at-least in next 6 months.
Indian hospitality industry being one of the pillars that holds the economy growth and
development of the country. Considering social responsibility towards society, we
have come forward to support the government authorities, medical fraternity, Police
and other professionals protecting us to help overcome this situation in any possible
way.
Various initiative has been taken by every brand in India and abroad for awareness
and other support. These initiatives include – spreading positivity by lightening up the
hotel facades, providing spaces for quarantine facilities, medical supplies, food and
beverages etc. These are the ways showcasing our proud moments, its values, and
the talent by carrying out such tasks for humanity.
GHV Group of Hotels, Radisson Mumbai Andheri MIDC and Hyatt Place Hinjawadi –
Pune, have contributed monetarily by donating Rs. 10 Lacs towards Maharashtra
Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. The GHV group also came forward to provide logistic
support like Transportation facility for Doctors and Government officials who are
helping during War Against Virus. They have also supported needy people by
distributing of Dry Ration Packets in Mumbai city.
