On the occasion of the 134th birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, the Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) Undertaking organized a dignified tribute ceremony at its headquarters in Colaba, Mumbai, to honour the life and legacy of one of India’s greatest visionaries.
The ceremony was marked by reverence and deep respect, led by Dr. Rajendra Patsute, Deputy General Manager (Power Supply), BEST Undertaking. Dr. Patsute offered a floral wreath at the oil painting of Dr. Ambedkar, paying homage to the principal architect of the Indian Constitution, a champion of human rights, and a relentless advocate for equality and social reform.
Senior officials from various departments of BEST Undertaking were present to reflect on Dr. Ambedkar’s towering contributions to Indian society. In their remarks, they emphasized the continued relevance of his ideals—social justice, inclusion, dignity of labour, and democratic governance—in the present day. They encouraged staff members to integrate these guiding principles into their daily work and institutional ethos.
The event drew a large gathering of officers and employees, all of whom stood in solemn remembrance and pledged to follow the path of integrity, progress, and empowerment envisioned by Dr. Ambedkar. The ceremony served not only as a tribute but also as a moment of inspiration for the organization to move forward with renewed commitment to public service, equality, and inclusive development.
