In support of ongoing fight against the pandemic coronavirus, Indian customs department from Aurangabad unit have come forward to support Kalyan Dombivali Municipal Corporation (KDMC). The customs department has handed over 2000 Face mask and 1000 face shield. Both items were handed over to KDMC Commissioner Dr. Vijay Suryavanshi. A custom Superintendent from Aurangabad handed over safety gear to Municipal Commissioner at his office in Kalyan. Besides KDMC, Aurangabad unit have also sent face mask and face shield to Ghati hospital Aurangabad and Pravara Covid hospital too.
Bharat Gade, Assistant Commissioner Customs, who is heading Aurangabad Customs Unit said “We are perhaps going through the darkest phase of human civilization. Indian Customs department stands for unity and humanity. Therefore, we have decided to donate face masks and face shield. It may not be a big volume but it would certainly come handy to be used in combating this disease. As a responsible institution, it is our duty to stand by the administration and help them eradicate this disease”.
Numerous attempts to contact KDMC commissioner Dr. Vijay Suryavanshi were futile, as he was on the field job to take real time positions in various wards in Kalyan.
