Fairmont Udaipur Palace – A Majestic Blend of Rajasthani Heritage and Modern Luxury

Fairmont Hotels and Resorts, the luxury brand under Accor, in partnership with Keystone Resorts, has unveiled the Fairmont Udaipur Palace — an 18-acre architectural marvel that seamlessly blends Rajasthani heritage with modern sophistication. Nestled amidst the serene Aravali Hills, this palace-style retreat features 327 elegant rooms and suites, seven versatile event venues, eight curated dining experiences, and a 12,000 sq. ft. wellness sanctuary, all inspired by the opulence of Mewar’s historic fortresses.

The guest journey begins at the imposing Raj Dwar gateway, flanked by cannons, leading into a world of domed pavilions, intricately carved chhatris, courtyards, and cascading stepwells. The property is divided into three wings — Surya Mahal, Chandra Mahal, and Agni Mahal — each embodying elemental themes of sun, moon, and fire. Leopard-inspired motifs, sculptures, and artworks throughout the palace celebrate the wilderness and spirit of Rajasthan.

The dining experience is equally diverse and immersive. Bahaar serves global and local comfort cuisine; Dahaad, the palace bar, is highlighted by a striking thikri leopard installation; Dastaan offers a warm lounge setting for conversations; Sitara provides a sunset-facing terrace for cocktails and stargazing; Zaika pays homage to bold Indian flavours; while the Ivory Pool Bar caters to poolside indulgence. Two new concepts — Celeste, an avant-garde Asian bistro, and The Alchemist, a Mediterranean live-kitchen experience — are set to launch soon.

With over 1,40,000 sq. ft. of indoor and outdoor venues, the palace is designed for grand celebrations, weddings, and corporate events. Jewel, the signature ballroom adorned with crystal chandeliers and expansive terraces, anchors the event spaces. Other highlights include the Art Deco-inspired Imperial Ballroom, Mehfil courtyard with 550 hand-carved marble columns, the expansive Jashn Bagh and Noor Bagh lawns, a Chand Baori-style amphitheatre, and panoramic terraces such as Infinity, Jungle, Sajjangarh, and Sunset.

“The opening of Fairmont Udaipur Palace is a landmark in Fairmont’s journey in India and a tribute to Udaipur’s timeless beauty and cultural richness. Known as the City of Lakes, Udaipur has long inspired travellers with its regal heritage and architectural splendour. This palace embodies our commitment to blending global luxury with local traditions. We are proud to bring the Fairmont experience here and be part of the city’s enduring cultural legacy,” said Omer Acar, CEO, Raffles and Fairmont Hotels & Resorts.

Somesh Agarwal, Chairman and Managing Director, Rockwood Hotels & Keystone, said the Fairmont Udaipur Palace was envisioned as a “world of experiences” that captures the soul of Rajasthan. Calling Udaipur the jewel of India, he highlighted that the palace — built with stories, hand-carved jharokhas, and timeless artistry — stands as a tribute to royal heritage and Indian craftsmanship. “We wanted to create a destination within a destination, where every guest feels like modern royalty, not just staying but celebrating and experiencing the true essence of Rajasthan,” he said, adding that the project reflects a promise to give Udaipur a global edge in luxury tourism.

Vishrut Gupta, General Manager, Fairmont Udaipur Palace said “Fairmont Udaipur Palace is not just a place to stay; it’s an experience that celebrates culture, evokes emotion, and defines luxury in its purest form. We have crafted every element to ensure that every guest leaves with moments they will always remember”.
