The All India Association of Industries (AIAI) and World Trade Center (WTC) Mumbai, in collaboration with India Post, hosted a session on commercial exports to empower Indian exporters, especially MSMEs.
The event was graced by Dr. Vijay Kalantri, President, AIAI and Chairman, WTC Mumbai; Captain Somesh Batra, Vice Chairman, WTC Mumbai; Amitabh Singh, Chief Postmaster General, Maharashtra Circle; Sangeeta Jain, Senior Director, AIAI; Priya Pansare, Director, Trade and Investment Promotion, WTC Mumbai; and Santosh Kotre, Director, Finance, Accounts and Admin, WTC Mumbai. A lamp-lighting ceremony marked the inauguration, attended by over a hundred exporters, business representatives and India Post officials.
Ms. Pansare flagged concerns over US tariff hikes impacting Indian MSMEs in textiles, gems, seafood, chemicals and engineering, urging diversification and smarter logistics strategies.
Dr. Kalantri stressed the synergy between WTC Mumbai’s international network and India Post’s extensive reach. “India Post’s cost-effective and reliable services offer MSMEs a strong competitive edge,” he said, encouraging businesses to tap postal export solutions to widen their global footprint.
Mr. Singh described India Post as a trusted logistics partner with a 170-year legacy, connecting rural entrepreneurs to international markets. “Our ground-level presence and affordability make us an enabler for small exporters,” he said.
In a presentation, Sudhir Jakhere, Assistant Postmaster General, and Vipul Mandlesha of India Post, highlighted simplified export processes, robust tracking systems, international business centres and schemes designed to enhance transparency and efficiency.
The session concluded with Mr. Singh presenting a customised ‘My Stamp’ to Dr. Kalantri, recognising his contribution to trade facilitation and global business growth.
