Shadab Khan, Hotel Manager at Gateway Chikmagalur, brings nearly 18 years of hospitality experience to one of The Indian Hotels Company Limited’s (IHCL) most scenic properties, set in the foothills of the Western Ghats. A seasoned hotelier with proven leadership, Khan is known for blending operational excellence with innovative guest experiences, continuing IHCL’s long tradition of service excellence.
Khan began his journey with IHCL in 2008 as a Hotel Operations Management Trainee at Taj Bengal, Kolkata. Since then, he has steadily risen through the ranks, taking on key roles at Taj Holiday Village in Goa, Taj Dal View and Vivanta by Taj in Srinagar, and leading large-scale food and beverage operations.
He played a pivotal role in the launch of Taj Tirupati, managing the debut of its 110-room luxury property, and contributed to the pre-opening phase of Taj Theog Resort & Spa in Himachal Pradesh by conducting brand standard reviews and mystery audits. In 2021, Khan demonstrated his crisis management skills while leading bio-bubble operations for the Indian Premier League at Taj Fisherman’s Cove, Chennai. Most recently, as Operations Manager at Taj Green Cove Resort & Spa, Kerala, he successfully oversaw resort-wide operations and enhanced guest satisfaction.
With expertise spanning general management, financial planning, capital project oversight, and people development, Khan has earned a reputation for his ability to manage both luxury and remote resorts while building strong teams and promoting cultural diversity.
Now at Gateway Chikmagalur, he is committed to elevating the property’s profile as a premier destination in Karnataka’s coffee country.
