Mumbaikars have a chance to savour the rich flavours of Malacca at Spice Oasis, IRA by Orchid Hotel. Bringing a heady mix of spice, heritage, and slow-cooked tradition to the city this January, the Malacca Food Festival will take over the dinner buffet at the hotel. Inspired by the historic port city of Malacca, also known as Melaka, the limited-period culinary showcase offers diners an opportunity to experience Malaysia’s most celebrated dishes through a carefully curated buffet that blends culture, comfort, and indulgence. The festival will run from January 9 to 17, 2026, between 7 pm and 11 pm, priced at ₹2,200 plus taxes per person, with a 50 percent discount on the buffet.
Rooted in centuries of culinary exchange, Malaccan cuisine is known for its layered flavours shaped by Malay, Chinese, Portuguese, and Peranakan influences. The festival menu reflects this rich lineage, offering authentic dishes prepared using traditional techniques, signature spice blends, and classic accompaniments. Highlights include Melaka Laksa, Chicken Rendang Curry, Nyonya-style Curry, Sambal Goreng, Sambal Chicken, Ayam Pongteh, and Ikan Asam Pedas, alongside vegetarian favourites such as Terong Belado. Traditional desserts like Kuih Lapis, Khao Niaow, and Sago Gula Melaka round off the experience, bringing the essence of Malaysia’s street food and home-cooked classics to Mumbai.
Enhancing the experience are live food counters and themed presentations that transform the buffet into a cultural dining affair. Whether it is a family dinner, corporate gathering, or an evening for food lovers seeking something unique, the Malacca Food Festival promises a refined yet approachable global dining experience. With this festival, Spice Oasis reinforces its position as a destination for international flavours, inviting diners to explore, indulge, and return one plate at a time.
