Tamara Leisure Experiences, one of India’s prominent hospitality companies headquartered in Bengaluru, has unveiled the next phase of its growth strategy, announcing plans to launch nine new properties across the country over the next three to four years. The expansion underscores the group’s sharpened focus on destination-led and experience-driven hospitality, aligned with changing traveller expectations.

The planned growth reflects a clear shift in consumer preferences, with travellers increasingly seeking immersive, format-specific stays that draw from local culture, heritage and geography. To address this demand, Tamara’s strategy combines owned asset development with a calibrated expansion in the asset-light segment. This approach allows the group to diversify across leisure, business and experiential travel, while also marking a selective foray into the fast-growing faith-led tourism segment.

Sustainability, wellness and technology form the three integrated pillars guiding Tamara’s expansion roadmap. Each upcoming project is being designed to harmonise with its natural and cultural surroundings, while supporting regional employment, strengthening local supply chains and encouraging community participation. The group maintains that responsible hospitality is central to long-term value creation.

Samir MC, CEO of Tamara Leisure Experiences, said the company’s new phase of growth is anchored in a destination-first philosophy. He added that the thoughtful use of technology will enhance guest experiences through personalisation and seamless interactions, while sustainability will remain embedded across design, operations and long-term development.

As part of its 2030 vision, the company plans marquee launches including The Tamara Kaziranga, a luxury eco-resort in Kaziranga; The Tamara Alleppey, an ultra-luxury houseboat experience in Alleppey; and The Tamara Hosur, a farm resort near Hosur. The group will also introduce O by Tamara in Bodh Gaya and Whitefield, while its midscale brand Lilac expands to Velankanni, Kufri and Kannur. In Madurai, Tamara will enter the wedding segment with a culturally rooted Kalyana Mandapam.

Industry estimates project India’s hospitality and tourism sector to approach USD 60 billion by 2028, driven by rising domestic travel and sustained infrastructure investment. Currently operating eight hotels and one AYUSH hospital, Tamara’s expanding portfolio reflects its integrated view of hospitality, wellness, culture and place as interconnected elements of the guest experience.
