During a brief visit to Mumbai, Rajan Khurana, General Manager and Vice President – Operations at Lebua Hotels and Resorts, spoke candidly about the brand’s hospitality ethos and its measured interest in the Indian market.
Khurana clarified that Lebua is not in a hurry to expand, but is thoughtfully evaluating opportunities across the country. Discussions are underway with multiple owners, guided by strategic alignment rather than aggressive timelines. “We believe in taking baby steps and identifying opportunities that best suit the Lebua portfolio,” he said, emphasising the importance of brand integrity over rapid growth.
Lebua has earned global recognition for experiential hospitality, where service is designed to evoke emotion rather than function as a transaction. Having spent over 16 years with the group, Khurana believes Indian travellers naturally connect with this philosophy, especially those familiar with the brand through visits to Bangkok.
He noted that the bond between India and Thailand goes beyond tourism, shaped by long-standing cultural and travel ties. Within Bangkok’s dynamic hospitality landscape, Lebua distinguishes itself through its focus on “moments of truth”—from curated food and beverage experiences to personalised service and attention to detail.
At the core of Lebua’s approach is the belief that guest satisfaction and business performance go hand in hand. Khurana said that when guests leave with genuine memories, commercial success follows organically, creating sustainable value for property owners.
As Lebua charts its future, India remains a key market, approached with patience and purpose. For Khurana, luxury hospitality ultimately rests on emotion, and it is these carefully crafted moments that leave a lasting impression.
