Sustainable artistry adds a mindful touch to Ganpati celebrations

Located in the vicinity of the Lalbaugcha Raja Ganesh Mandal, ITC Grand Central, Mumbai is celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi with ‘Bappa: The Art of Earth’, an installation that brings together devotion, craftsmanship and sustainability. The initiative offers a unique and mindful way of celebrating the spirit of the Ganesh festival.
The installation has been created using bamboo sticks, traditional clay diyas, recycled craft paper and old newspapers, transforming humble materials into an artistic representation of Lord Ganesha. The initiative highlights how faith and creativity can come together through mindful and responsible choices.
Created by two artisans over approximately 30 hours, the installation reflects detailed craftsmanship and use of recycled materials. Every element has been designed to convey the beauty of creating something meaningful while remaining conscious of the environment.
‘Bappa: The Art of Earth’ will grace the lobby of ITC Grand Central from September 14 to 24, offering guests an opportunity to experience a creation where tradition meets imagination and devotion meets the earth.
The installation also brings a local dimension to the celebrations, with the hotel situated close to Lalbaug, which becomes one of Mumbai’s major centres during Ganesh Chaturthi.

Through the installation, ITC Grand Central presents a contemporary expression of Bappa rooted in faith, artistry and responsible choices.
