Amid rising demands from residents of Thane, especially the senior citizens, the local civic body on Monday announced that a drive-in COVID-19 vaccination facility will be set up at the Viviana mall in the coming days.
The official handle of the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) tweeted that the facility will be set up in the parking of Viviana mall, which is located near the Eastern Express Highway.
The drive-in vaccination facility will be made available only for those above 60 years of age, the civic body informed.
“To avoid overcrowding at vaccination centres and to avoid inconvenience to senior citizens, it has been decided to set up a drive-in vaccination centre in the parking lot of Viviana mall in Thane,” the TMC tweeted.
“The centre will be fully functional in the next two days and only 100 persons above the age of 60 years will be administered the vaccine daily between 10 am to 1 pm, given that they register themselves online first,” it added.
