On Friday ED attached the Mumbai apartment and other assets of former ICICI Bank CEO and MD Chanda Kochhar who is now being investigated for loan fraud.Her assets and property attached by ED include an apartment  in which she currently resides and other three properties of husband including their farm houses. The book value of these properties is Rs 78 crore, while the market value is Rs 600 crore. ED has termed the apartment at CCI Chambers in the Churchgate area as an illegal gain. Kochhar has lived in the same since 1997. There has been alleged rumours that this flat was owned by a Videocon entity – QTAPL (Quality Appliances Pvt Ltd, now named Quality Techno Advisors Pvt Ltd) from 2009 till 2016. The same apartment is seized by ED. Last year a case was registered alleging corrupt practices by ICICI bank during Chanda Kochhar’s tenure for sanctioning loan of rupees 1,875 crores. She is being questioned by CBI and ED for alleged corruption and money laundering and has been named as accused in the case along with her husband Deepak Kochhar in the FIR filed by CBI.
