After a whole 3 decades Mumbai to be open 24/7

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) in a meeting, approved the proposal to allow shops, restaurant and malls to remain open for 24 hours in Mumbai.
BMC Commissioner Praveen Pardeshi and Mumbai Police approved of this decision. Maharashtra Environment and tourism Minister Aditya Thackeray was there too while the meeting was being conducted.
The permission to open shops 24/7 has been given only in commercial areas and this exemption will be implemented from January 27 ‘20. However alcohol will be served only till 1:30 am.BMC and Mumbai Police have agreed to permit establishment including malls and eateries inside ‘gated communities’ and non-residential areas to remain open throughout the night. This is happening after a whole 3 decades when Mumbai is going to be open 24/7. We think this decision is brilliant taken by the government as it will create more employment opportunities and tourism will flourish  on a large scale thus improving the economy in Mumbai
