India’s most awaited travel trade show OTM Mumbai concluded with much fanfare. It was held at the Bombay Exhibition Centre on 5th February 2020. Prominent and leading participants were awarded trophies for their outstanding performances and presentation. The finale of the event saw, Yogendra Tripathi IAS – Secretary, Ministry of Tourism Government of India, grace the occasion as the Guest of Honour for the Valedictory and Awards Programme. Sanjeev Aggarwal, Chairman and CEO Fairfest Media welcomed him and shared the stage with him for coveted event.
There were numerous categories of awards announced. The categories for award included from group participation, B2B online travel, cruise, airline, travel technology, destination management company, best pavilion, exotic destination to eco themes. All the awards winner was cheered by attending crowd with round of applause.

At the time of receiving awards countries like Indonesia and Sri Lanka came on stage with their dance troops, they performed on stage and received the award. The audience were astonished to watch such a marvelous gesture. All other winners made their presence felt novel gestures.
It may be noted that OTM event was a mammoth show planned and organized in a perfect professionalism with International standard. All the pavilions were flooded with visitors, buyers and exhibitors. There were more than 1,000 exhibitors from 60 countries and destinations. Besides, there were more than 30,000 plus buyers that came to the show which lasted for the three days.
Sanjeev Aggarwal Chairman and CEO Fairfest Media – India, thanked every participant for making this event a grand success. He said “OTM was the culmination of over a dozen travel trade shows held across the length and breadth of India. It has witnessed a growth rate of 20% and a 50% increase in entrees despite the perceived economic slow-down.
Yogendra Tripathi IAS – Secretary, Ministry of Tourism Government of India addressed the attendees for their positive and encouraging response. He cited OTM as an important platform to engage, discuss and reinforce ideas. He lauded tourism as an important sector contributing to impetus and growth in the economy through employment generation and GDP among other factors. He quoted the cumulative arrivals in India have gone up by 8% while the ease in e-visas has contributed to a 20% growth. He also repeated the Prime Minister’s plea for all Indians to visit 15 destinations from now until 2022.
Arun Kumar Singh – Principal, Institute of Hotel Management, Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition (IHM) Mumbai, who accompanied Secretary tourism in the show said “OTM has gained a perfect momentum in last couple of years and growing further, it has become a most sought-after event for industry. The volume of stalls, National and International participants of various categories has shown a keen interest to be a part of it, which itself speaks about, how important is OTM event”.
