Indonesia Tourism Pavilion wins “International Category Award” at OTM Mumbai Show

Award: A grand recognition for Indonesia Tourism for showcasing extraordinarily  

In recently concluded OTM trade show which was held in Mumbai, Indonesian Tourism won the Award for best Decoration Pavilion in International category. The award was handed over to Indonesian tourism by Yogendra Tripathi IAS – Secretary, Ministry of Tourism Government of India with much fanfare. Sanjeev Aggarwal, Chairman and CEO Fairfest Media were also present on the stage with him for coveted event. The most awaited travel trade show in India, OTM Mumbai was held for three days in Mumbai from 3rd February to 5th February 2020 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, at Goregaon in Mumbai. 

The award for best pavilion for Indonesian Tourism was received by His Excellency Agus Saptono, Consul General of Indonesia in Mumbai. Along with CG, William Kalua, Assistant Deputy Director of Indonesian Tourism for Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai and Kozhikode Area and Pupung Thariq Fadhillah, Deputy Director in the Ministry of Tourism, Indonesia and other officials from Indonesia tourism and Consulate in Mumbai were also present during the ceremony.

It is worth mentioning that it was a spectacular moment for the spectators and other dignitaries who were present during the award distribution. There was a round of applause when Indonesian troupe performed on the stage. The dance troupe was exclusively flown down from Indonesia to take part in the event.

The Indonesian pavilion at OTM event was really magnificent and eye catching. All the visitors at OTM trade show eagerly visiting the pavilion. Indonesian traditional instrument “Angklung” played ear soothing music to the audience. The instrument is made up of Bamboos. Indonesian Tourism authorities specially invited Angklung instrument player namely Rasyid. He was playing Angklung instrument with regular intervals and was well appreciated. The dance troupe was also especially brought to perform at the event.

About Angklung: The Angklung music instrument is popular throughout the world, but it originated in what is now West Java and Banten provinces in Indonesia. It has been played by the Sudanese for many centuries. The Angklung and its music have become an important part of the cultural identity of Sudanese communities in West Java and Banten.
