In a proud moment for Ethiopa, His Excellency Demeke Atnafu Ambulo, Consul General of Ethiopia in Mumbai awarded Annual Business Excellence Award by India Business Group (IBG) Chamber of Commerce. The award ceremony was held on January 31st, 2020 at Indian Merchant Chamber (IMC) in Mumbai. The IBG award was handed over to CG Demeke Atnafu by Business Guru – Vikash Mittersain – President IBG and Honarary Consul of Mali. The function was graced by Mayor of Mumbai – Honourable Kishori Pednekar. The award function was attended by over 200 participants. The attendees included government officials, diplomats, representatives of various Chambers and business, who’s who of Mumbai and business honcho’s.
The foremost dignitaries who were awarded at the event included His Excellency Demeke Atnafu Ambulo Consul General of Ethiopia in Mumbai (Consul – Expat), Ronnie Screwwala in Business excellence – Male (Enterpreneur and Philanthropist), Rajyalaxmi Rao in Business excellence – Female (Indo American Chamber of Commerce), Sumit Mullick (Chief Information Commissioner Maharashtra (Government –), Martin Kriegner in Expat Business Excellence –(Executive Committee member LafargerHolcim), Gul Kriplani – Consul (Honarary Consul General of Republic of Iceland), Nykaa in Startup (Chief Business officer Nihir Parikh), Kunal Vijaykar in Entertainment (Food Writer, author and TV Personality) and Sucasa in Hospitality (Suren Joshi).

His Excellency Demeke Atnafu Ambulo, Consul General of Ethiopia in Mumbai, speaking to Mumbai Messenger said “ I am truly honoured, humbled and Pleased to accept IBG (India Business Group) Annual Business Excellence Award. It is a great honor for me and my country. This award is a source of inspiration and encouragement to redouble our business diplomacy effort to elevate the business & investment partnership between Ethiopia and Western Region of India to a next higher level”. H.E. Demeke further added “ Our Sincere gratitude and heartfelt thanks to Vikash Mitterson, President of IBG for recognizing and selecting us for this prestigious award, and look forward for an enhance cooperation and partnership”.
It maybe noted that India Business Group (IBG) has completed 7 years of existence. It has grown exponentially, and to mark the 7 years span. IBG is a modern Chamber of Commerce and an independent not-for-profit Membership organization covering all business sectors and segments! The group has around 80,000 of optin mailing list in Mumbai and around 1000 active members in their chamber. The board of committee members is a diverse group of business representatives and individuals who help ensure the Chamber in moving forward with their members’ best interest in mind.
