 Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari today appealed to the youth to develop self – confidence and fearlessness to become good orators. The Governor was interacting with students and teachers participating in an Online Workshop on the ‘Art of Extempore Speaking’ from Raj Bhavan, Mumbai on Friday 26th June. The Workshop was organized by the SAMPARK initiative of the Kumaun University, Nainital.

Governor said self-confidence coupled with pursuit of knowledge, good listening, good reading and thinking are essential prerequisites to develop oratory. Stating that practice makes a man perfect, the Governor said a good orator must first become a good listener. He said without listening, contemplating over what you listened and dedication, one cannot become an extempore speaker.

The Governor recalling his College days, said self-confidence and fearlessness helped him win his first prize in an elocution competition. He also advised students to develop good writing skills and make more friends in life.

Vice Chancellor of Kumaun University Prof. N K Joshi, Director, SAMPARK, Prof. P C Kavidayal, Prof S A Hamid,  Dr A S Adhikari, Prof. Pushpa Awasthi and Coordinator Astha Negi were present at the Workshop, which was also joined by students and teachers from various parts of the country.
