 Chef Chandrachur Chamoli recently joined as Executive Sous Chef at Punjab Grill, Washington DC, USA. He is a seasoned chef with more than 18 years of experience. Prior to this he was working at American Tandoor Indian restaurant in Tyson Corner Center (USA). Before coming to the US, he was working as Chef De Cuisine for four years at Signature By Sanjeev Kapoor Restaurant at Hotel Melia Dubai, a 5 star Boutique Hotel. Signature By Sanjeev Kapoor restaurant is the first ever restaurant for the elite Brand Signature among many brands owned by Chef Sanjeev Kapoor. It was one of the finest and well patronized restaurants by the elite of Dubai. 

   Educational Assets:

 Chef Chandrachur did his primary education at Dehradun and completed his Bachelors of Science (BSc.) Degree from Hemvatinandan Bahuguna Garhwal University Uttarakhand. He was keen on pursuing his career in culinary field so he joined Food Craft Institute in Dehradun and completed Diploma in Hotel Management Food production & Qualified HACCP Training. He also completed Specialization Indian Food Culture Certification from Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (IHM) Bangalore and Government of Tourism INCREDIBLE INDIA, Department of Tourism Government of India. 

   First in the entire family to join hospitality industry 

 Chef Chandrachur comes from the family of bankers, he is the first person in his entire family to join the hospitality industry. He was suggested to do graduation in Chemistry to be a part of the Chemical industry, which he did so. But he was destined to land up in the hospitality industry. The seeds of cooking sowed in him naturally when he was a kid, which gradually grew as a big tree and became a chef.  He was fascinated in cooking from childhood; as he used to watch every move of his mother while she was cooking.  

   Beginning of Culinary Journey

 He began his career at Best Western The Emerald Hotel at Juhu Beach in Mumbai and worked for leading hotels that included Ananda in the Himalayas (Best Spa in Asia and most expensive in India), The Lalit Ashok Bangalore and Hotel Hill View Faridabad.   

   His Chemistry Degree helped creating Molecular Gastronomy in Dubai

 Chef Chandrachur graduated in Chemistry which helped him infuse chemicals in his recipes. His recipe turned out to be widespread in Dubai. Every guest who visited Signature by Sanjeev Kapoor Restaurant started ordering for it. It was a huge success which brought him name and fame. Guests were pouring in to try out his Molecular dishes and Dubai media was highlighting his dishes widely. It may be noted that Molecular gastronomy is a subdiscipline of food science that seeks to investigate the physical and chemical transformations of ingredients that occur in cooking, chef Chandrachur is specialist in it. 

    A Chef who served VVIP’s   

He was especially flown along with Padmashri Awardee Grand Master Celebrity Chef Sanjeev Kapoor to serve VVIP Lunch and Dinner for Honorable Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi. The event was organized by Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, His Highness Mohammed Bin Zayad Bin Sultan Al Nahayan which was held at Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi. The event was attended by high profile dignitaries and officials from Indian and Abu Dhabi Government officials. He worked at the task force in Lalit Srinagar for doing special VIP events for the Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir. He was the part of the chef’s on a special invite in Hilton Iru Fushi at Maldives, to do special events for exceptional delegates.

 Chef Chandrachur is Winner of Middle East Hozpitality Excellence Award -2015.

Winner of the Gold Award for Signature By Sanjeev Kapoor Restaurant under his leadership in 2017.
