Akshay Kumar’s forthcoming film Bell Bottom has blocked a new date for its theatrical release. The movie will arrive in cinemas on 28 May, 2021. It was earlier set to hit the marquee on 2nd April, 2021.
Directed by Ranjit M Tewari, Bell Bottom has been produced by Pooja Entertainment in association with Emmay Entertainment. In addition to Kumar, the film also features Vaani Kapoor, Huma Qureshi, Lara Dutta, and Adil Hussain on the ensemble cast.
Recently, Akshay Kumar took to social media to drop a new poster of the film and thanked the cast and crew for helping to complete the shoot during the coronavirus pandemic. “Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much. It’s teamwork and I am grateful to each and every member of the cast and crew,” the actor had written.
Bell Bottom, written by Aseem Arora and Parveez Shaikh, was the first Bollywood movie to have begun and wrapped filming during the coronavirus pandemic. The team had gone to the UK to shoot the film in August last year and finished it on 30 September.
The film is dedicated to one of India’s forgotten heroes. It is set in the 1980s and Akshay will be seen playing the role of a spy. If things pan out as per plans, Bell bottom could clash with Fast & Furious 9 on 28th May, 2021.
