Newly appointed Chief Secretary of Maharashtra meets Governor

The newly appointed Chief Secretary Sitaram Kunte called on Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari at Raj Bhavan, Mumbai on Wednesday (3rd March). Sitaram Kunte’s wife Ashwini Kunte was also present while meeting the Governor.

It may be noted that Sitaram Kunte, Senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) has been appointed as the chief secretary of Maharashtra on March 6th, 2021.

He belongs to the 1985 batch, serving as the additional chief secretary (home). Kunte, who has graduated in economics and studied statistics and management, has 26 years of experience in handling public administration.

In his career, he has held several key posts in the Maharashtra government. His most known tenure was municipal commissioner of Mumbai between 2012-15. He has handled finance, planning, and environment departments among others. He has also served as the Vice President of the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA).
