Bunty Aur Babli 2 release date pushed ahead as COVID-19 cases see a sharp rise across India

The release date of Yash Raj Films’ much-awaited offering Bunty Aur Babli 2 has been postponed owing to the unprecedented rise in Coronavirus cases across the country.

The film, which stars Rani Mukerji, Saif Ali Khan, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Sharvari Wagh, was earlier scheduled to hit theatres on April 23. A new release date for the film is yet to be announced.

Informing about the same, noted trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh tweeted on Thursday, “Bunty Aur Babli 2, which was scheduled to release in *cinemas* on 23 April 2021, has been postponed. YRF will announce the new release date later.”

“Due to the spike in COVID-19 cases and the impact on the entertainment industry in India, YRF has taken the call to push the release of Bunty Aur Babli 2 ahead,” he added.

Bunty Aur Babli 2 is a sequel to the 2005 hit film Bunty Aur Babli starring Rani Mukerji, Abhishek Bachchan and Amitabh Bachchan in principal roles. It has been directed by debutant Varun V Sharma.
