Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar successfully underwent gall bladder surgery on Monday, informed party spokesperson and Maharashtra minister Nawab Malik.

He took to Twitter to give party workers as well as the NCP supremo’s followers an update about his health.

“A successful laparoscopy surgery was conducted today on our party President Sharad Pawar Saheb’s Gall Bladder by Dr Balsara,” Malik wrote.

He added that Pawar’s health is stable and he is now recovering from the surgery. The senior leader was admitted to Mumbai’s Breach Candy hospital for the procedure.

A few days ago too, the 80-year-old politician was admitted to the hospital after complaining of pain in his abdomen, post which surgery was conducted to remove a stone from his gall bladder.

He was then discharged from the hospital after a couple of days.

Meanwhile, last week Pawar took the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and thanked the medical team for their service.
