The newly appointed Consul General of Australian in Mumbai, His Excellency Peter Truswell called on the Governor of Maharashtra H.E. Bhagat Singh Koshyari. The courtesy meeting was held in Mumbai’s Raj Bhavan at Malabar Hill on 5th May, 2021.
H.E. Truswell is a high profile diplomat, prior to taking his new assignment as CG in Mumbai; he was Deputy Head of Mission, Australian Embassy in Kabul. He is a career officer with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT).

H.E. Truswell has previously served overseas in Seoul and the Australian Permanent Mission, United Nations, Geneva. In Canberra he has served in recent director roles in DFAT with a focus on South Asia and consular operations. He has also served in the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet.
H.E. Truswell holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from the University of Sydney; a Graduate Diploma in Foreign Affairs and Trade from Monash University. He is also done Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the College of Law, New South Wales.
