Director General of Maharashtra Police Sanjay Pandey called on Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari at Raj Bhavan, Mumbai. This was a courtesy call. Senior IPS officer Sanjay Pandey was given additional charge of the Maharashtra DGP recently.
It is to be noted that Sanjay Pandey is known for his integrity but was sidelined for many years. He is an alumnus of prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur and completed Engineering in IT computer. He also holds a Master’s Degree in 1998 from Howard University.
He is considered to be extremely honest, upright and self-respecting. In the communal riots of 1992-93, when there was tension and violence all over Mumbai. He as DCP controlled the violence very soon in Dharavi. He was also highly praised by the Sri Krishna Commission for this. During that time he had a dispute with some leaders in power. But he did not bow down.
