InterGlobe Hotels & French Hospitality Major Accor launch 20th ibis in Mumbai

The Mumbaikar’s have one more reason to cheer; the Accor group’s Ibis brand has opened the doors of its brand new property. The hotel is known as Ibis Mumbai Vikhroli and twentieth hotel in India. The hotel is located right on LBS road opposite 247 Corporate Park (Central Mall) and is close to Powai, Ghatkopar and Vikhroli, a prominent corporate hub and industries. The distance from the airport is about 30 minutes.

The hotel is designed by distinguished designer Isabelle Miaja. It’s a Singapore based international design and architecture firm that has also designed the Sofitel in Mumbai located at BKC in Bandra.

Ibis Mumbai Vikhroli, the 15-floor property by the French hotel chain is a joint venture with Interglobe Hotels, the hospitality arm of the holding company of Indigo airline. It has 249 rooms and is certified with an IGBC Gold rating. The Interglobe hotel group is headed by J. B. Singh President and CEO.

It symbolises the ‘Aamchi Mumbai’ culture for the new-age traveller. The hotel’s design featured Mumbai’s heartbeat – the local train, its pride- the Dabbawalas, the beautiful skyline, royal lifestyle of the Maratha empire, flamingos- migratory birds that flock to the country’s financial capital, and Kolam- a traditional form of art drawn using rice flour. (Kolam is a brand of Rice from Wada, Tehsil of Palghar district of Maharashtra).

Introducing progressive technology: Ibis Mumbai Vikhroli has introduced progressive technology that includes digital menus in the restaurant, mobile check-in and access to OTT entertainment channels in the rooms. The hotel has an entire floor dedicated to Food & Beverage that features the signature multi-cuisine restaurant, an interactive live kitchen and delectable local flavours served round the clock. It has a lively bar stocked with finest wines, an impressive library with a collection of good books, an Al fresco outdoor space for events and special occasions. Spice It restaurant will serve India’s longest-running breakfast, starting from 4 am until noon. As part of the brand’s global collaboration with Spotify, the floor also has a music station with an exclusive #ibisMusic playlist to invite guests to experience during their stay. Keeping up to the needs of business travellers, the hotel has a 24-hour operational fitness centre, two board rooms and a spacious, fully equipped convertible meeting room with abundant natural light. Special care has been taken in the public area toilets where tissue napkins can be used from sensing dispensing machines.

One of the General Managers of a luxury five star hotel in Mumbai on the condition of anonymity said “The Ibis Vikhroli will take over a major chunk of business due its close proximity to leading corporate and business houses located nearby. Nowadays business houses prefer to select rooms and conferences in nearby locations due to traffic congestion and long travelling distances. The Ibis Vikhroli has all the amenities with international branding which customers look forward to. I am sure that it will generate handsome revenue from day one of its operations”.
