68 journalists from 51 countries attends CIPCC Global Media Workshop in Beijing

Journalists participating in China Asia Pacific Press Center 2023 Program, to  witness two of China’s prestigious domestic events known as “Two Sessions”.

The China International Press Communication Center (CIPCC) has invited leading journalists from Asia Pacific, Africa, Caribbean, Latin America, Central and Eastern Europe under the exchange program. It will deepen mutual understanding between Chinese and foreign media outlets. The participating journalists will be witnessing and covering two of China’s most important domestic events. These events are referred to as the “two sessions”. It will comprise the session of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference CPPCC, it will be held on 4th March, 2023 and second one would be the National People’s Congress NPC, the highest organ of State power and China’s top legislative body on 5th March.

There are 68 journalists from 51 countries including India have already arrived. These journo’s are staying in a highly secured and protected VIP area at Jianguomenwai Diplomatic Apartment. These journalists are invited by the China Public Diplomacy Association to participate in the China Asia Pacific Press Center 2023 Program. This program is designed under the framework of China International Press Communication Center and it will last for four months.

It may be noted that CIPCC in a four months long program for journalists will organise lectures on various subjects like China’s socio-economic development, diplomacy, culture, science and technology. CIPCC will also provide an extensive training on Journalism and internship in China’s leading media. They are also organising symposiums with relevant government departments, enterprises, think tanks and media organisations. CIPCC have chalked out an enormous plan to provide in-depth knowledge on various areas, in this regard they have arranged visits to selected provinces to get first-hand information. These journalists will also get an opportunity to cover major and diplomatic events in China.

Yu Lei, Director CIPCC conducted an introductory briefing to journalists to know the upcoming programmes. He gave a warm welcome to the global press corps in his opening remarks. Yu Lei, while addressing the inaugural briefing said “It is a very important program for journalists from various countries. These journalists would get an opportunity to attend the National Legislature conference ahead of the annual session. This four-month event will create a valuable exchange opportunity to participanting journalists in long term relationships. It will enhance and establish a platform for strengthening exchanges and sharing communication experience on covering significant events”.

In the event, besides Yu Lei, all other directors, who heads respective countries also explained nuances of this prestigious program. To make every journalist feel homely, the property manager of the campus also explained various points.
