Mewati Sitaram – Boao Hainan
Boao Forum for Asia (BFA)’s annual conference was held at Boao coastal town in China’s Hainan. Besides this event there were multiple activities held here. In Hainan province Sanya holds an important place. His Excellency Sheng Yongjun, Member of the standing committee of the CPC Sanya Municipal Committee & Executive Deputy Mayor of Sanya Municipal Government organised a press conference in the evening to highlight importance the Sanya. There were 25 International journalists including me. The theme of the promotion Conference for the Sanya Innovation and Development Exhibition, entitled “Wind from the Sea: Together for a Better FTP”, was held at the Boao Dongyu Island Cultural Park.
Sanya is Hainan’s one of the most sought after and most beautiful tourist destinations which is most popular across the globe. The European tourists come here for tanning on sea beaches. During the meeting Executive Deputy Mayor Sheng Yongjun highlighted various points beside tourism. It was linked with key enterprises, institutions and business associations at home and abroad to discuss investment opportunities and to make development plans. Besides the press meet, more than 10,000 people attended the conference offline and online.
There were numerous representatives participating in promotion meetings that included The Sanya Yazhou Bay Science and Technology City Administration Bureau, The Sanya Central Business District Administration Bureau and The Sanya Investment Promotion Bureau. All representatives shared detailed explanations of the preferential policies of the Hainan FTP and investment opportunities in Sanya. The participating representatives of the and People at the conference also received perspectives on policy analysis, industry dynamics and resource elevation.

Hainan is a Free Trade Port in which Sanya is included. The government is planning to put Sanya on a global map Sanya. They are promoting high-level opening-up, and strengthening its exchanges and cooperation with other countries and regions. It has been integrating into the domestic and international dual cycles, while also making greater efforts to attract foreign capital.
It is worth mentioning here that CPC General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping visited Hainan twice to learn deeply insights. His dual visit in Hainan shows the importance of Hainan. It shows his keenness and seriousness to develop it in best of the facilities for tourism, trade, business and industries. He is aiming to build an international tourist destination and a high-tech innovation highland in Hainan.
Author of this article and one of the senior team members of visiting Journalist Mewati Sitaram was given an opportunity by Executive Deputy Mayor H.E. Sheng Yongjun spoke on the stage, he said “I have visited Sanya earlier and found it to be one of the finest tourist destinations in China. It needs to be promoted in a better way globally including India. The people of India spend enough money for touring, so it has to be promoted in India too. He said China and India are two global economies and tourists from both countries are most sought-after tourists who spend good money in travelling and exploring new destination”. He also said that all journalists should be invited to Sanya, so we can give them good coverage and publicity”.
In the press conference Deputy Mayor Ms Yin Chengling and Yutong Liu, Counselor of the Information Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China were also present.
