Ajit Pawar sworn in as Deputy Chief Minister; Shinde – Fadnavis Ministry expanded

Ajit Pawar, nephew of NCP Supremo Sharad Pawar was sworn in as a Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra today on July 2, 2023 at Raj Bhavan in Mumbai. The year- long Eknath Shinde – Devendra Fadnavis cabinet in Maharashtra was expanded with the induction of 9 ministers. State Governor Ramesh Bais administered the oath to NCP Leader Ajit Pawar as the second Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra.

Senior Nationalist Congress Party’s (NCP) leader Chhagan Bhujbal, Hasan Mushrif and Sharad Pawar’s close confidant Dilip Walse-Patil, were also sworn in as Ministers in the Shinde-Fadnavis-Pawar Government.

The Governor also gave oath to senior NCP leader Chhagan Bhujbal, Dilip Walse-Patil, Hasan Mushrif, Dhananjay Munde, Dharmarao Baba Atram, Aditi Tatkare, Sanjay Bansode and Anil Patil.

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and the newly appointed Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar were present on this dias. The oath taking ceremony started with the rendition of the national and the state anthem and concluded with the singing of the national anthem.

There are a total 53 NCP MLAs in the State out of which 30 are apparently with Ajit Pawar, who is the leader of Opposition in the State Assembly. Deputy Speaker Narhari Zirwal and NCP working president Praful Patel were also present in the Raj Bhawan.
