Nuevo Leon Governor Samuel Alejandro Garcia Meets Governor of Maharashtra

The Governor of the Mexican State of Nuevo Leon Samuel Alejandro Garcia Sepulveda met Maharashtra Governor Ramesh Bais at Raj Bhavan in Mumbai on Monday 7th August, 2023.

  The visiting Governor told the Governor that Nuevo Leon State is attracting the highest investment among all States and added his State will welcome investment from Indian business and trade. Mentioning that electric car major Tesla, BMW and Indian companies like Infosys and TCS have already invested in his State, he said he will be happy to promote academic collaboration between universities in Maharashtra and Nuevo Leon.

Maharashtra Governor recalled the historic ties between Mexico and India, he expressed the hope that the bonds of friendship between the two countries will further strengthen. He said he will welcome student exchange between universities in Maharashtra and Nuevo Leon State.   Minister of Economy of Nueva Leon Ivan Rivas Rodrigues and the Consul General of Mexico in Mumbai were also present.

It may be noted that Nuevo León is a state in Mexico. The state was named after the New Kingdom of León, an administrative territory from the Viceroyalty of New Spain, itself was named after the historic Spanish Kingdom of León.
