The film is based on the life of reggae singer and songwriter Bob Marley. Set in the tumultuous, politically charged times of the late 70’s – early 80’s in Jamaica, the story weaves a carefully crafted narrative that offers a unique glimpse into the life of the late Reggae icon, recreating the incandescence of some of Marley’s thrilling performances, reminding us of his message, his invaluable contribution to humanity and the indelible mark left through his music.

The High Commission of Jamaica in New Delhi in association with PVR INOX hosted an exclusive premiere of the highly anticipated Paramount Pictures Bob Marley Biopic, “One Love”. The event took place on February 15, 2024 at Delhi’s iconic PVR Priya Cinema at Basant Lok Complex, Vasant Vihar among the presence of film critics/reviewers, media, brand partners and officials from the Jamaican Embassy and PVR INOX.

His Excellency, Jason K. Hall, High Commissioner of Jamaica to India, according to him “Bob Marley is undoubtedly one of Jamaica’s greatest sons and perhaps the greatest musician of all time, based on the impact of his music inspiring billions around the world, irrespective of race or creed. His message, the embodiment of “One Love”, fighting against oppression, injustice and inequality, giving voice to the voiceless, calling for peace, unity and love, is as relevant today as it was back then, over 40 years ago, perhaps even more so as our planet contends with wars on multiple fronts, the onslaught of climate change. It is a tremendous honour to be able to share this story with India and I hope that it will inspire us all to be more compassionate, more caring and above all be One in Love. “Let’s get together and feel all right”.
