Switzerland Tourism has appointed Christian Schoch as the new Director for India, effective April this year. Hailing from Eastern Switzerland, Schoch will spearhead tourism strategies, forge key partnerships, and execute marketing initiatives aimed at attracting Indian tourists to Switzerland. His new appointment is a significant step toward enhancing Switzerland’s presence in the Indian market, a crucial and rapidly growing region for the country’s tourism industry.
After launching his career in the financial sector, Christian Schoch transitioned into tourism, initially working in the aviation industry and earning a degree as a tourism expert. He subsequently gained experience in tourism marketing and held various roles as a marketing manager and project manager in marketing agencies.
Christian Schoch brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from various sectors. His diverse career includes roles with Swiss International Air Lines, Thai Airways, Grand Hotel Kronenhof & Kulm Hotel, Panta Rhei PR, namuk outdoor, JEFF Zürich, Lake 67, and Sportbahnen Elm AG, among others.
He brings a strong academic background, including a Diploma in Tourism and Management from Höhere Fachschule für Tourismus & Management and a CAS Certificate of Advanced Studies in Multichannel and Marketing Communication from the prestigious Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts.
