Madhya Pradesh, renowned for its rich natural beauty, history, and culture, is poised to elevate its tourism offerings in 2025. With a focus on diversifying its tourism portfolio, the state plans to expand cruise tourism, rural tourism, textile tourism, and niche experiences, aiming to position itself as a premier global destination.

A key development is the introduction of India’s first interstate cruise route, connecting Meghnath Ghat in Madhya Pradesh with Gujarat. This 120 km route will feature a solar-powered cruise terminal in Sakarja, offering a scenic and eco-friendly travel experience that is set to draw both domestic and international tourists.

To enhance its global visibility, Madhya Pradesh is preparing a new TVC featuring sitar virtuoso Anoushka Shankar, building on the success of its 2024 campaign starring Pankaj Tripathi. The state is also curating a Destination Handbook and leveraging digital platforms with VR tours, audiobooks, and influencer meets to showcase its offbeat destinations and cultural gems. These efforts are part of a broader strategy to engage with a wider audience and position the state as a must-visit location in India.

Madhya Pradesh is also working to enhance connectivity through new air routes under the PM Shri Paryatan Vayu Seva, linking Satna, Bhopal, Jabalpur, and Khajuraho. Additionally, Bhopal will receive a ₹100 crore international convention center, further establishing the state as a hub for business tourism and international conferences.

The state’s rural tourism initiative will include 350 new homestays and promote sustainable tourism through projects such as the Clean Destination initiative in Bandhavgarh villages. In partnership with the Ministry of Textiles, Madhya Pradesh is also promoting textile tourism, spotlighting weaving villages like Maheshwar and Bherugarh.

Moreover, adventure tourism will thrive with events like the Skydiving Festival, hot air ballooning, and paramotoring, drawing adventure enthusiasts from around the world. Building on the milestones achieved in 2024, including world record-breaking cultural events and the addition of six sites to India’s tentative UNESCO list, Madhya Pradesh is on track for even greater success in 2025. With a focus on diverse experiences, the state is ready to offer world-class tourism opportunities to visitors from all corners of the globe.
