In March 2024, Kapoor was appointed as the inaugural General Manager of Fairmont Mumbai, overseeing the launch of the luxury hotel. Now, at Fairmont Mumbai, he leads the operations, focusing on strategic planning, team building, and delivering exceptional service. With more than two decades of experience in luxury hospitality, Rajiv Kapoor brings a vast array of expertise in operations, guest service, and team leadership. His international experience across top-tier resorts in Asia has honed his skills in cross-cultural service, innovation, and brand positioning—laying a strong foundation for Fairmont Mumbai to set new standards of excellence in the city’s hospitality scene. Rajiv began his career at Grand Hyatt and has since held leadership positions at prestigious properties such as The Westin Sohna Gurgaon Resort & Spa, Le Meridien Mumbai, Sheraton Surabaya Hotel & Towers in Indonesia, and The Westin Langkawi Resort & Spa.
Rajiv is widely regarded as a visionary leader and a transformative force in the Indian hospitality industry. During his impactful five-year tenure at Fairmont Jaipur, he significantly elevated the brand’s profile through innovative guest experiences and strategic operational enhancements, resulting in a marked increase in occupancy.
