In a first-of-its-kind initiative, the Government of Meghalaya will host the inaugural Meghalaya Spice Festival in Mumbai from February 27 to March 1, 2026, at Jio World Drive, Bandra Kurla Complex, from 1pm to 10pm.
Organised by the Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, the festival will showcase the state’s rich variety of spices, organic produce and agricultural products, positioning Meghalaya as a source of premium, high-quality and GI-tagged spices such as the famed Lakadong turmeric.
The three-day event aims to connect farmer-producer organisations (FPOs), cooperatives, MSMEs and artisanal producers with buyers, exporters, retailers and HoReCa players, strengthening market access and export linkages. The festival will feature B2B meetings, buyer–seller interactions, culinary demonstrations, farmer storytelling sessions and a dedicated “Brand Meghalaya” pavilion highlighting key agri-initiatives.
Visitors will have the opportunity to taste and purchase premium spices including Lakadong turmeric, ginger, black pepper, cinnamon and indigenous blends, while interacting directly with farmers and artisans to learn about cultivation and processing practices.
The festival will be formally inaugurated at 3.30pm on February 28. Cultural evenings will be held daily from 7pm onwards under the Chief Minister’s Meghalaya Grassroots Music Program, offering a glimpse into the state’s vibrant cultural heritage alongside its agricultural strengths.
