Seasoned hotelier Nikhil Chandra has been appointed as the new General Manager of Novotel Ahmedabad, strengthening the hotel’s leadership as it continues to expand across corporate, leisure and MICE segments.
Prior to this role, Chandra served as General Manager at Grand Mercure Ahmedabad GIFT City. With over two decades of experience in the hospitality industry, he has held leadership positions with globally recognised brands such as Accor, Hilton, InterContinental Hotels Group, Radisson Hotel Group and The Lalit Group. His career has been defined by a strong focus on operational excellence, revenue optimisation and strategic growth.
Chandra, in his new role, will focus on reinforcing the hotel’s market positioning, with emphasis on revenue diversification, strengthening direct and digital booking channels, enhancing service standards and driving sustainable practices aligned with Accor’s global vision. He will also prioritise talent development and guest-centric innovation to ensure continued competitiveness.
During his tenure at Grand Mercure Ahmedabad GIFT City, Nikhil Chandra steered the property through a strong growth phase, driving improved revenue performance, operational efficiencies and a sharper food and beverage positioning. Earlier, he held key leadership roles at The Lalit Grand Palace Srinagar, Crowne Plaza New Delhi Mayur Vihar Noida and DoubleTree by Hilton Gurgaon, where he was instrumental in elevating banquet operations, strengthening guest engagement and building robust stakeholder relationships.
A certified General Manager under IHG’s Career Insight – GM Potential Program, Chandra is known for driving performance excellence and building collaborative team cultures.
